Paris is literally in Belgium’s backyard. Or was it the other way round? Anyway, it’s one of my favourite shopping and relax destinations.

I’m still on the hunt for the best macaroon. My favourites are Hévin and Pierre Hermé at the moment, but who knows which patissier will enchant me next?

But France is more than Paris.

There is the lovely Strasbourg, which combines German and French influences in many fields: architecture, vibe and food (think French refinement and German portions).

I also loved the roughness of Marseille: its dirty streets, pastis, the harbour, the food … And it’s easy to escape to the nearby Calanques.
